Gamora kindly suggested I think about doing something about something, so I'm contemplating whether or not it would be worth the effort to present a bulleted list of helpful points, starting with
- pointing out what flarking idiots everyone is being - question if anyone has noticed the general loss of mind taking place, and - suggest that everyone collectively pull their heads out of their asses and maybe think about some better priorities than "what if we decided to go all judge, jury, and executioner"
God yes. Was it really stupid? Incredibly. Did it accomplish much? No. It's not like they don't have a legitimate point to bring up, but it was a bad move. And the consequences are probably not equal to the reaction.
I kept thinking it would just blow over. Not to mention it's all been said before. But maybe at this point it bears repeating these things? I have no idea. I would like to stop talking about it and start thinking about more important things, though.
wasn't exactly happy with them when it was happening but i'm pretty sure i personally got more fucked over than anyone else on base so if i can get over it the rest of them can too
trying to get a code of conduct and government is nice and all but there's nothing to make anyone respect their authority. i'd give it a couple months before things went back to the way they were. we need to focus on finding out what we changed down in exsilium and how to proceed from there. this is a war, not "baby's first government"
[wow she sure had a lot of bitter feelings she was keeping to herself]
Steph, I've tried the "time travel to fix great evil" thing before. And at the end of the day, nothing we did, any sort of meddling with time, overlapping timelines, messages from the future- none of it helped. It just made everything worse, in the end.
[It made him have to shoot Adam in the face.]
We'd be better off trying to stop everything in the here and now.
[Steph he is making shit up as he goes along at this point.]
What kind of raw materials we could get our hands on. Who's been in combat before or knows a damn thing about engineering. What can be cannibalized off whatever we can find in this time period, because I don't feel even remotely comfortable meddling too much with the das't timeline like we might need to. What we can rip off the UE and reverse engineer. Finding out where they're keeping any more nukes. Guerilla warfare, been there, done that, last resort but these are ugly times. Whether or not there are any old allies hiding out there somewhere and whether or not I could talk them into honoring debts and ties from another universe.
[He will not think about coaxing the Cosmic Cube back into use.]
i wouldn't count on finding allies from your own universe.
but there's gotta be a resistance force in the UE, right? someone helps get the exiles into the city, maybe we could try to make contact with them?
and i think whether we do it in the past or the present, focusing on the masked or the AI are our best bet. just as somewhere to start with that guerilla warfare.
I'm not counting on it. The threat is too big to ignore; if any of the empires were still out there, they would be here. But there are bigger things. Universal constants. They might still be there.
[What would it take to convince Galactus to join their side? Because Peter would do it. He would walk up to a strange Galactus and try to convince him to throw in, even if there's no alternate Silver Surfer to temper the World Eater.]
I'll talk to Gamora. This isn't our first rodeo. But it's going to be a problem of resources. Not just volunteers. We need better weaponry than we have. This whole catered weapon thing is nice, up to a point, but it doesn't cover enough distance to not make us extremely outgunned. We've got Stark. What the hell has he been doing all this time?
i hope you're right, it'd be nice if we could just let the GL corps take care of this.
tony's been focusing more on infrastructure and commissioned projects for people. i worked at contrast mechanics back down on earth, and he never seemed that interested in weaponry
but maybe he'd change his mind on that if we asked nicely

so you know.
how about you?

that list does sound pretty helpful though. can i suggest adding:
- does anyone really give a shit about the mutiny anymore because i sure as hell don't?

i want to be able to do something but i don't have a lot of experience in "time travel wars" so i'm feeling pretty useless
removing the masked/clones from the timeline apparently isn't an option because everyone's throwing a shitfit about morality
[and she'd feel awful about it if they managed to succeed, but feeling awful is better than letting the UE win.]

[never mind that he already does.]
You might want to take the lead on that. I am not really in the mood to be asking anybody nicely, not even an Avenger.

i can manage asking nicely, i like tony
